Thucydides From Athens, one of the great historians of the ancient world. A general in the Peloponnesian War, Thucydides wrote a military history that attempts to be impartial and accurate, and avoids questions of social conditions or public policy. His work also includes speeches, the best of them being Pericles' funeral oration.
